为什么“春节”不能翻译成“Lunar New Year”？封面新闻记者采访了上海天文馆网络科普部部长、上海市天文学会副理事长施韡。施韡告诉记者，“Lunar New Year”和“Chinese New Year”之争，涉及的是一个科学问题。

“从历法的角度来讲，Lunar new year是不准确的。”施韡指出，英文Lunar的意思是“月亮的”，所以说Lunar New Year只能代表“阴历”，不能完整地表达“阴阳合历”的概念，而中国从古至今所使用的主流历法都是阴阳合历。

施韡说，“Spring festival”是春节的标准英文翻译，中国天文学会天文名词审定委员会对此早有定论，相关译名收录于《英汉天文学名词》。
